Searching catalog should provide option to filter asset properties to search

Currently, catalog search looks for matching keywords in these asset properties:

  • Tags

  • Name

  • Description

  • Terms

  • Column names

If catalog search retunes hundreds of items from different assets properties, it's very difficult to find the right items.

Secondly, users may only interested to search the "Name" property.


The end users need more control over what they want to search. There should be a filter option with search to filter asset properties. For example: just search "Name" or "Tag" or "Term" etc.

    Hi Sonia,

    Are you planning to support a search for tag/description/terms/columns names/name in your upcoming release? if yes, which release version?

    We support a search and then filter down approach currently for business terms and tags (not for name, description or column names). However, we do not currently support a search only in business term/tag/description/terms/columns names.
