SQL Views

Information Analyzer provided functionality for so-called SQL Virtual Tables that allowed users to select and join data from different tables on a data source and reuse this view for further analysis and reporting.

The customer created thousands of such tables and are looking for a similar light-weight "SQL View" functionality in WKC. In contrast to the already existing SQL-based Data Quality Rules, “SQL View” should rather become a new asset type so that a list of such assets could be easily maintained, shared and reused. “SQL View” should act virtually as a data asset and it should be possible to use “SQL View” as a source for data rules.

    Hello Marcus.

    SQL Views are intended to work with any supported data source and act as an asset/source for Data Quality rules.

    Alexander - Are these the views that were viewing metadata from the catalog? These queries would need to be re-written against the reporting data mart for WKC. See https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-data/4.6.x?topic=catalog-sample-reporting-queries-watson-knowledge
