Hide predefined Category Roles (Owner, Admin, Editor, Reviewer, Viewer)

The customer have defined their own very specific category roles and would like to ensure that only these roles are used.

Therefore, they would like to hide the predefined roles (Owner, Admin, Editor, Reviewer, Viewer)  so that they do not appear in the UI.

Various possible solutions have been discussed, such as deleting the roles, renaming the roles, setting fine grained permissions etc.

Hi, it is something we can address in H2 2024.

Hi, one of the idea to handle this is to enable user w/ a permission "Administer governance artifacts" to hide OOTB roles. Would it work for the customer?

The customer wants to enforce that only the custom roles are used. Right now, the predefined roles (which have very similar names) always appear in the GUI, which leads to confusion. The end users sometimes choose some of the predefined roles instead of the custom roles. The issue has been raised with Joanna Janusz.

    Hi Alexander,

Can you comment more on why it is needed?

    Thank you,
