We are holding this requirement. Summarizing the reasons for not having higher limits on the UI / for not removing the limits –
We have limited the UI to ensure a smoother and more efficient user experience.
Enhanced Performance: Higher UI limits could strain resources, especially in smaller CPD setups, leading to delays. Keeping UI features lean keeps the UI responsive and accessible. Implications when multiple users export/import very large projects is avoided.
Efficient Storage Use: Files are temporarily stored before user can download them to their local. Large files require more temporary storage, impacting performance. This limit helps maintain reliability.
Effort vs Impact: This is an extremely High Effort requirement. Raising limits would require extensive changes across multiple services that use Projects. Increasing the limit at Project level can cause issues when multiple users export/import large projects and is not recommended.
Efficient Workaround: The backend supports higher limits via CLI, as we expect fewer concurrent users, ensuring an optimised experience.
Can you please move this under Knowledge Catalog area please.
We discussed to IBM CSM Jerry and Marcus and others and They mentioned this was addressed by removing the limit size . But it is not implemented I validated in IKC 4.8.1
I noticed Workspace on this Idea is pointing to Wastonx.ai
