IKC increase the 4000 characters limitation to describe a code to 8000 characters

Reference data.   Can the 4000 characters limitation to describe a code be increased to 8000 characters?    For example, we have descriptions that are very long, such as NAICS codes.

A different customer needs to store JSON strings that can be that long too. These JSON represent reference schemas used for event validations by other applications. The schemas are critical and can be changed by a few users users from time to time. Consequently, an authorization workflow must be established to enable controlled and trackable reviews. As worklflows can only be triggered by governance artifacts (no catalog / project assets) the reference data sets are the only suitable place.

    Thank you for the confirmation.

Note: in IGC there is not ref data support.

    Confirmed with the customer:

It is the description of the code value.
I will send you a sample of what the customer uses in IGC as reference as they are moving to IKC.

Hi, Can you please confirm if this RFE is to increase code description to 8000 characters, not the ref data value. Today both ref data value and description have 4000 characters limit.

Hello, while it is not on the roadmap yet, there is a high chance we will prioritise it for next 12 months.

More detailed update to come soon.

    Best regards,

    Michal
