Catalog‑Level and Category‑Level Protection Rules

Currently, protection rules are not governed by specific categories.

The client uses the platform to provide data to multiple distinct customers (government entities), each with unique governance, security, and data‑segregation requirements.

Given this scenario, it becomes essential to increase the granularity of how protection rules are applied. The client requires the ability to govern protection rules within specific categories, ensuring that only users with access to those categories can create or modify data protection rules associated with them. This enhancement would allow protection rules to follow the same governance model already used for other governance artifacts in the platform.

Requests:

  1. Enable the ability to associate protection rules with a specific category, allowing protection rules to be governed at the category level.
  2. Ensure protection rules follow the same governance logic applied to other governance artifacts within the platform.
