Provide logging/metrics for service level usage of watsonx.ai SaaS

Question from a partner about service level usage logging for watsonx.ai SaaS. Is there a good option to see detailed usage? e.g.

  • number of API endpoint requests over time,

  • histogram of input tokens per request, or grouped by token size, to analyze very large or small token requests,

  • model usage per API endpoint over time,

  • exceptions over time and total,

  • response tokens per request over time,

etc.

Is there perhaps a way to set it up using IBM Cloud Logs or watsonx.governance?I found some usage tracking but it’s limited:1. Simple resource usage can be seen in the > Project > Manage > Resource Usage page
https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/projects/<project-id>/manage/resource-usage?context=wx
2. You can also look at usage by cost by going to https://cloud.ibm.com/billing/usage
If you scroll down to the Services tables by Type, you can scroll to the relevant services for watsonx (for inference alone you can look for “Watson Machine Learning”
Under > “View plans”, you can see the different instances broken down
Under > “View details” for each instance, you will see the cost broken down by resource.
3. There is payload logging in watsonx.governance,
https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/docs/content/wsj/model/wos-payload-logging.html?context=wx&audience=wdp
4. There is a very simple runtime usage tracking per runtime measured in CUHs in your account: https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/environments/runtimes/account?context=wx
