Add a feature to verify the model details for DoD

We recently encountered an incident where the DoD model was incorrectly mapped, resulting in an incorrect response and impacting the customer's production environment. Unfortunately, the error was only discovered after calling the Model API. (Case Number: CS4303598)

To prevent similar incidents in the future, the project team and client are requesting a proactive solution to verify that the model being used is correctly mapped. We need to develop a feature that provides an additional layer of validation.

Proposed Solution:

We propose two possible solutions:

  1. Regular Model Detail Reports: Implement a feature that sends the mapped model details to the client on a regular schedule (e.g., daily, weekly, better it can be customized).
  2. On-Demand Model Query: Develop a feature that allows customers to query the model information on-demand, providing them with real-time validation.

Both solutions aim to provide an proactive way to ensure the correct model is being used, reducing the risk of errors and minimizing the impact on the customer's production environment.

    Hi Nisarg,

    In DoD, client has deployed model llama-3-70b-instruct, in metadata the model is meta-llama/llama-3-70b-instruct-curated which is also correct, but actually, it mapped to llama-3-3-70b-instruct. This problem is caused by a security change on IBM Cloud.  This issue can't be found until client run the inference. But client is looking for a proactive way to make sure the model is correct.

    Can you clarify by what you mean by DOD model was incorrectly mapped? As in the model id didn't match the actual model weights? Which model?
