Potential Disclosure of Confidential Customer Data by Feedback option

Across several official IBM pages – including the one below:
https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/docs/content/wsj/analyze-data/fm-security.html?context=wx
it is clearly stated that IBM and third parties have no access to customer input or output data in watsonx.ai.

However, in our recent exchanges with customer, the feedback feature in the watsonx.ai chat has become a point of concern. Customers Legal is specifically questioning whether clicking the “Feedback” button could result in confidential data being transmitted to IBM.

The referenced documentation states that content actively submitted through the feedback feature may be used for training IBM-owned foundation models, provided the user voluntarily submits such feedback:
https://dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com/wx/feedback-terms.html
We access it through the “Terms” link directly beneath the feedback box, as shown in the screenshot.

The important part here is:
Even before opening the full Terms, the blue feedback window (see screenshot) already states that the submitted feedback will be forwarded to a dedicated IBM team for review.

From the customer’s perspective, this gives the impression that a kind of “backdoor” exists through which confidential data – contrary to IBM’s general security statements – could still be transferred to IBM.
