Large Canadian Bank - Our investments in IDz should benefit from Watsonx Optimize being available
We have same request from Citibank who have adopted IDz and wishes for single IDE instead of having separate tools
Adding another customer, today Galicia, largest private bank in Argentina asked to have Code Assistant on IDZ.
Having 900+ developers working with mainframe and solely in IDz it is critical for us, with all the tooling build around IDz and EWM, that WCA is supported through Eclipse and not just in VSC.
I have this request from Fiserv and BNA so far.
Addition context on the initial request : Clients who have adopted Eclipse (ID/z, Topaz, zOS Explorer, Eclipse base, other platforms) it is critical that Cobol Explanation and to a certain extent Refactoring assistant is available within the Eclipse platform.
I would also see that newly announced WCA4 Enterprise Java would be a valuable add on for Java developers on Z (not just distributed and cloud) : So think about integrations between WCA4Z and WCA4 Java as it evolves
I agree - it is absolutely critical that Cobol Explanation arrives to the Eclipse platform. This is imperative for any client who uses ID/z, Topaz, Base Eclipse, zOS Explorer amongst other platforms. Please add Cobol Explanation to eclipse - it is incredibly important for the list of clients above - and beyond.
The critical part that is needed here is Cobol Explanation within Eclipse. We don't need everything - but Cobol Explanation with Eclipse is very important for the list of clients in the NCEE market seen below.
