Delete Documents from collection by condition

It would be handy to be able to delete documents from a collection by defining conditions. Something I would do in a sql-database like this:

DELETE FROM collection_name WHERE publication_date < date('2018-01-01')

    I would suggest to use simply the discovery query language instead of SQL as this is probably easier and allows the users for rapid prototyping (e.g. adding and removing specific documents rapidely at the beginning of the implementation a search application). Also for development cases where you need to reingest a set of documents from scratch because they caused an issue or were wrongly formatted, this will help.
