This enhancement will allow more fine grained control over which items to crwal using Watson Discovery v2 Sharepoint connector.
For one use case, there are 11362 ListItemCollection type .aspx pages and 1000 real .aspcx pages.
Currently Sharepoint connector only allows setting Filter to crawl .aspx pages.
This crawls 12362 documents to Watson Discovery.
Customer does not want to search ListItemCollection and it also masks real relevant .aspx pages from turning up at the top of the search results.
IBM advised deleting 11362 ListItemCollection items using curl command for delete document API.
We created a batch file to delete 11362 documents, but it takes 14 hours to execute.
Deleting ListItemCollection documemnts is not a practical and scalable solution.
Instead IBM should allow SharePoint connector Filter to specify that include .aspx pages but exclude .aspx pages of type ListItemCollection.
This will be the most efficient way and will allow Discovery v2 Customers fine grained control on what gets crawled by Sharepoint connector.
This will benefit all IBM Customers using Discover v2 Sharepoint connector as they will be able to crawl only pages that they really want to search.

Very similar issue and need for enhancement has been presented by one of our key Business Partners (ABP - Agive Business Processes) for a Production implementation with their UK Client (https://www.ofcom.org.uk/ the Comm Regulator). Please ping me for more details but the capability to exclude specific folders or files is key for them at the moment.
