Few aspects about WebHCAT...
The WebHCAT service is not available in most newer versions of Hadoop HDP 3.x and CDH 6.x.
The HEE 2.x rpm can be configured with the WebHCAT service for connectivity from Watson Studio Local 1.2.3 and Cloud Pak for Data 2.1. This will support the Browse and metadat Preview feature for Hive tables.
In future versions of Watson Studio, we do not provide any functionality around WebHCAT. We plan to support Browse, Preview, Refine of Hive data by the Hive via Execution Engine for Apache Hadoop connector which under the covers leverages the HiveServer2 service.
Please let us know if this plan will suffice.
