For our testing around multi-tenant watsonx.data, for the most part we want users to be able to bring their own data sources (buckets and databases), and simply use the other resources of watsonx.data on IBM Cloud without direct management. Hence, we've onboarded our use case teams as part of the "User" role.
However, when users register their bring-your-own buckets, there's a separate step to activate the bucket that is only given to an admin. This causes issues for self-registration as there are only two roles for this view (Admin and User), and in order to allow for self-activation of buckets, we'd have to give users the Admin role. This would effectively mean all our onboarded use cases receive Admin role and there are no users.
This idea is to move the bucket activation permission from the Admin role to the User role, as in our experience that is the main operation that users are requesting our administration team perform that they can't self manage.
