Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Allow TEMPLATE switching for more data sets in REORG and LOAD
Allow TEMPLATE switching in the REORG TABLESPACE, REORG INDEX and LOAD utilities for the necessary work files. For example, small objects may only require data sets with DSNTYPE BASIC and large objects may require data sets with DSNTYPE EXTREQ or...
Option to override LOAD utility maintaining MAXASSIGNEDVAL for identity columns in Db2 V12
Our existing process to move data from one region to another using the LOAD utility stopped working on tables with generated by default as identity key column after we upgraded to Db2 12. The new LOAD enhancement to maintain MAXASSIGNEDVAL is c...
Allow for Multiple Columns on LOAD INTO TABLE WHEN Criteria
We recently converted from BMC to IBM Db2 utilities. It would be very useful if multiple column names could be specified on the WHEN criteria for the Db2 LOAD utility. This would also make the functionality similar to the WHEN criteria of REORG ...
Automatically Perform a Display with Claimers when Utilities Cannot Perform a Drain on an Object
We recently migrated from BMC Utilities for Db2 to IBM Utilities. One feature that is sorely missed is that when the BMC Utilities would fail to drain because other processes had a claim on the object, BMC Utilities would perform a display with c...
Allow for UNLOAD SHRLEVEL CHANGE and REORG SHRLEVEL CHANGE to be compatible wen executing on the same partition
We are running very busy environmenet with IDAA being frequently refreshed by loader with increamnts of inserted records. In addition, we are using the DB2 automated housekeeping approach with the DSNACCOX stored proc implmentation to manage and t...
Modify the message when Load utility encounter table not found.
Sometimes we unload many tables from source DB2 to another one. If some tables do not exist in the target DB2, the load utility will fail with RC=8.this error message is mixed with ordinary information and ends with "I" in a big jobout file. For e...
When we try to use the DSNUTILB utility to LOAD data into a DB2 table with RESUME YES option, where we need to Load some set of records, which do have same Primary key values already existing in the Target table, then those records to be loaded ar...
Improve DSNACCOX procedure and DISPLAY command to provide correct information
This idea is a result of case TS002735466 and is being opened as recommended by IBM Support.
Currently, there is an undocumented limit of the internal buffers which are managed by DB2 and which are used when processing DISPLAY DB command. When it...
