When removing unused indexes the first step we want is to be able to make index invisible to queries similar to the Oracle feature. As the index is still being maintained the rollback to make the index visible to queries is quick.

32k pagesize dbspace

Informix has the 16775134 pages limit for one fragment. the rowsize of some user table is very wide. for those tables , if the pagesize is more big, it's small change to reach the limitation.

Add an onconfig parameter so that slow alters are not allowed by default. This is to prevent outages for customers from long transaction rollbacks.

Add onstat -g vpcache detail to show breakdown of usage e.g. smx buffers

. When the vp-cache grows to gigabytes we need to see why it is growing. Currently shared memory dumps have to be sent to HCL for analysis. Propose 'onstat -g vpcache detail' to show what the vpcache on each cpu vp is being used for e.g. smx buffers.

MSG_DATE format should follow $DBDATE if defined

Several customers would like the format of the date written to online.log when we have the MSG_DATE parameter defined/activated to follow the format of DBDATE.Currently it seems to follow the American standard (MONTH / DAY / YEAR2).
