Automated Monitoring and Recovery for Finance Analytics Publisher (FAP) Service

Description

Currently, the Finance Analytics Publisher (FAP) Service requires manual monitoring and restarting through Controller Web. There is no alert mechanism to notify stakeholders when the service stops due to errors, resulting in a highly manual and time-consuming process. This often causes delays in restarting the service and requires daily intervention to ensure continuity.

Current Challenge

  • Manual monitoring of the FAP Service is required to detect failures.

  • No alert system exists to notify relevant teams when the service stops.

  • Service restoration is delayed, impacting downstream processes and data availability.

Proposed Enhancement

  • Implement configurable alerts to notify stakeholders when the FAP Service stops due to errors.

  • Enable automatic restart of the FAP Service upon failure.

  • Forward error details and log files to the appropriate teams for investigation and resolution of technical issues.

Expected Benefit

  • Ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of the FAP Service.

  • Reduce manual intervention and monitoring efforts.

  • Minimize delays in service restoration, improving data availability for downstream applications.

  • Enhance overall system reliability and operational efficiency.

Business Impact

The proposed enhancement will significantly reduce operational overhead and improve system resilience. By automating monitoring and recovery, organizations can:

  • Save time and resources: Eliminate daily manual checks and reduce dependency on human intervention.

  • Improve data timeliness: Ensure downstream applications receive updated Controller data without disruptions or delays.

  • Enhance decision-making: Reliable and timely data flow supports accurate financial reporting and analytics.

  • Reduce risk: Proactive alerts and automated recovery minimize the likelihood of prolonged outages and associated business impact.
