Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE) - Allow the use of subsets in the DBRW function

In Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE) the DBRW Excel function does not allow to use subsets to retrieve data, but only dimension members, unlike with Planning Analytics Perspectives where the use of subsets is allowed in the DBRW function.

At Bacardi this limitation is penalizing the Cognos users quite a lot, as they have to design their PAfE templates by including as many rows/data retrievals as the number of members in their subsets, instead of just referring to their subsets in the DBWR function and getting the aggregated value at once.

Can this feature be added to PAfE ?

Thanks,

Kind Regards,
Jean-Yves Bildstein

This is now possible with the use of the new DefineCalc function. Note that the feature is currently limited to custom reports, but will also be expanded to work with Dynamic Reports. Note that we also have some planned UX enhancements in 2023 that will make it easier to create calculations (aggregates of members in a subset) to be referenced by the DBRW.
