Calling External URL to retrieve Image allow call through default Proxy

An image is embedded in a report the url is added to retrieve the image from an external server. The image is not returned using format PDF or EXCEL. Please refer to Case number TS012847462.

This is the issue; when using HTML output, Cognos renders the URL as an image tag and then the browser retrieves the image. However, the RSVP report service has to embed the actual image in the output (e.g. PDF), and it performs an HTTP GET <image URL> using a cam socket for communication. The call fails because it is not using the default proxy to make the call.

Per IBM Cognos: The ability to force the BiBus process to use a specific proxy server is not something that can be performed at the cam socket level, and this is something I've confirmed with our development team.

A configuration in which the BiBus process is forced to use a specific proxy server is not currently possible.

The request is for Cognos to update the dll calling out to the URL retrieve the Image to use the default proxy on the server. This can be done quite easily by your development team. I am completely surprised that process is not already in place.

Security is the main issue in the cloud and this change will prove added security to Cognos and your clients. This is a win win request.
