IBM Infosphere CDC to support the remote journal in the same iSeries Lpar

This is Shane from HSBC. We selected IBM Infosphere CDC for real-time data replication from iSerise to Oracle in Linux.

Background/Pain-points:

Our system in iSeries uses single journal  for all database, which associated more than 40K files.  During offline batch processing, the journal receivers are generated very quickly and with large volume.  This caused CDC scrape the journal entries very slow(with high latency) and consumed more CPU resources.

We explored many methods  and consult with IBM CDC support Gaoming.  We come out the solution that  using remote journal CDC which setup origin server and source server in the same iSeries Lpar.

Unfortunately, it's told that it's can't meet the pre-req for cdc installation for remote journal.

***quote from IBM CDC support****

Unfortunately, their testing is blocked by the same library name requirement. You cannot have a library of the same name in both SYSBAS and an IASP. So we can't meet the pre-req for cdc installation for remote journal. If you do need such a configuration to be supported, you may need to raise an enhancement request.

The idea/expectation:

Per attached diagram,  we would like the IBM CDC can support the remote journal in the same iSeries Lpar.   Appreciate it if you can review and consider this enhancement.
