Search capability in Open Manta Designer

We have noticed that the users leveraging Open Manta Designer (OMD) are experiencing hard time in finding a Column_Name from an Entity with several attributes which is imported to Canvas.

This is leading to a bad user experience when they intend to work on linking attribites which do not match the naming convention with downstream ones and locating such ones is often tiring.

Providing "Search" / "Filter" capability in the Canvas would help in addressing the aforementioned challenge when an entity has hundreds of attributes, which is pretty common at our organization.

Also, "Search" / "Filter" at "Import from Manta Flow / Repository" to select the intended Entity needs to be made available as well, since navigating through the entire repository to find and select an object to be imported to Canvas is often time consuming and taxing on the user.

Request Manta to help with enabling the aforementioned capability in OMD which results in good user experience for the members leveraging Manta for Custom Lineage purposes which is key in adding value to the lineage application.

This was submitted as an enhancement request to Manta vide "OMD Enhancements HD-6308"  which got migrated to IBM Portal "Case: TS016610590" but is yet to see the light of the day. We hope the request gets prioritized to be incorporated in the product at the earliest.

    Regarding the Open Manta Designer-related items, these are on hold for the time being. Our current focus is on the core rebuild of the lineage tool, and as such, we've tentatively slated work on the Open Manta Designer for 2025. While we may revisit this in the future, efforts won't be undertaken until the core rebuild is complete. We'll consider this for OMD roadmaps as we progress.
