/tmp space requirement

We've run into stuff like this before. I think a lot of these requirements are from the purescale side, but they are being applied to all systems We address the /tmp space requirement a while back so that it is a warning now (although it still causes db2_deinstall to fail, DOH!)

We've been hitting two others with this upgrade.

/var - is required (by db2prereqcheck, which is run by db2iupgrade) to have 2Gb free. Db2 uses a little space in /var for the global registry but it is nowhere near 2 Gb. We had to write a custom script to add minimal space to /var just for this upgrade even though Db2 doesn't use it.

/usr – is required (by db2prereqcheck, which is run by db2iupgrade) to have 512Mb free to install Db2. DB2 upgrade does not use /usr at all. There are no instance or installation files in /usr

Since db2iupgrade runs db2prereqcheck and fails if any errors are hit, we can't upgrade a system without these unnecessary space requirements being met.

So I would like to see these turned into warnings like the /tmp message. And I'd like add that the same should go for db2_deinstall if those checks are included in that processing. I mean, we can rm –rf (and we do) but it seems like IBMs uninstall command should probably function.
