db2look to exclude generating DDL for sequence objects

db2look has option to exclude generating definition for views, federated objects,... etc, and this is great.

It would be good if it also offer option to exclude things like sequence objects, and maybe just include objects like functions, stored procedures, etc.

One of our applications generate lots of sequence objects in the database (probably around millions now), and it is almost impossible for us to generate just tables and indexes DDL as db2look will require the DDL of all sequence objects to be generated first.

    Hi,

I totally agree with your idea .

In my case, we are migrating an old development database which has more than 27 schemas, and 10 of them are unused and deprecated, so it would be VERY useful to have the following features:

    1) The one you suggested: EXCLUDE multiple schemas, a parameter like -ZE (Z schema, E exclude) supporting a space/comma separated list of the schemas to exclude

    or

    2) Just to enhance the current Z parameter in order to allow a space/comma separated list of the schemas needed to be generated by the db2look command, not just ONE single schema, which makes it not useful for this migration case.

    Regards,

    Dave
