Performance improvement of using global variables with large elements in SQL PL

System : Internet banking for wholesale

Required enhancement :
Need to improve performance of using global variable with large array in SQL PL procedure.
When Global Variable with large array is used in SQL PL, there currently is significant performance degradation. Please see below for details.

Details :
The client needed to use global variable with 20,000 elements in an array, but the performance significantly degraded from around 5000 elements or more:
about 10 sec with less than 3000 elements
--> but jumps up to 1 minute with 5000 elements

Through PMR, we were told that there are known overhead with global
variable which leads to significant performance degradation and therefore design change is required to improve.

For the time being, we were advised to use local variable instead of
global variable for data manipulation by copying from and to between
global variable to local variables inside the procedure.
However, this will increase application development workload, and would like to have current design to be dhanged.
