The Db2 for z/OS Development has reviewed it and determine the implementation of BIDI capability in Db2 for z/OS to allow our native REST interface to support BIDI data is too expensive and impractical. To support BIDI against Db2 data, the idea should be submitted to either IBM Db2 Connect or IBM z/OS Connect. Each provide data transformation routines for rest callers. For example, z/OS Connect provides the ability to optionally transform request and response payloads that are used when accessing Db2 data on z/OS. You can create message payload transformers can be created to satisfy specific needs by implementing the com.ibm.wsspi.zos.connect.DataXform Service Provider Interface (SPI), which is included with z/OS Connect.
