Simplify REVOKE by REVOKE ALL PRIVILEGES and RETAIN OBJECTS

1) REVOKE of old grants is complex due to many things that might not be revokable in the same revoke - if one fails the entire statement fails. Usually privileges are revoked due to a person leaving or moving into different a different role . REVO...

Reset the DSC counters when doing EXPLAIN STMTCACHE ALL

We are running IFCID 318 and externalize the Dynamic Statement Cache regularly to DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE. For ease of use, we reset the counter by doing STOP and START of the IFCID 318 as described in the manual. The time from EXPLAIN STMTCACHE...

Add STMT_HASHID2 in IFCID 316

Can you add STMT_HASHID2 (referred in DSN_STATEMENT_CACHE_TABLE) field to the IFCID 316 record? It would be very handy in identifying normalized SQL statement text(s).

Enable discard reorganizations on catalog history tables.

Enabling historization for certain catalog tables can result in very large tables that can be difficult to purge, particularly if they are in LOCKSIZE ROW and without LOCK ESCALATION, as is the case, for example, with the SYSIBM.SYSTABSPACESTATS_H...

DSN-Command -STA PROFILE GROUP

DSN-Profiles are managed using catalog tables DSN_PROFILE_TABLE and DSN_PROFILE_ATTRIBUTES, but are not automatically activated upon insert / update. Instead a DSN-command -STA PROFILE must be executed. In a Db2 datasharing system, I can only have...
16 days ago in Db2 for z/OS 1 Functionality already exists

We are looking for a profile that can monitor both active and inactive connections (CONDBAT). This profile exists and it is MONITOR CONNECTIONS, but it only allows LOCATION as a filtering option. We would like to request AUTHID be added as a filter option. This is needed as we have some Application Developers that do not close their connection when done reading DB2 on z/OS data from a distributed application. They continue to create new active threads while they unused threads go inactive. Eventually the application will consume all available connections allowed (CONDBAT) for a DB2 subsystem (or datasharing group) causing outages to other more well behaved applications. LOCATION as a filter does not work for us for distributed applications that reside on a Kubernetes POD.

Profile monitoring - be able to limit the numbers of users accessing DB2 through DDF by setting up limits by AUTHID.

Syntax-Verification of DSN_PROFILE_TABLE and DSN_PROFILE_ATTRIBUTES entries upon insert / update

Db2 Systemprofiles are configured via the two tables DSN_PROFILE_TABLE and DSN_PROFILE_ATTRIBUTES and are filled by the customer. Some fields are restricted to specific values for proper function. However, there is no errorhandling, in case of inv...

DSN Systemprofile history of command -STA PROFILE

DSN Systemprofiles are controlled via Catalogtables DSN_PROFILE_TABLE and DSN_PROFILE_ATTRIBUTES which have corrosponding history- table. In those history tables, past states of profiles are stored. However, since a profile entry is not activated ...

Complete PROFILE support for SQL tuning ZPARMS

While modelling a production system it was noticed that the PROFILE support is not 100% up to date and compatible with the actual ZPARMs that the Db2 Optimizer uses. I opened a case TS019778440 and they said "Yes, it is missing, please open an AHA...
