Need assistance with how to handle native stored procedures created with the ‘AUTONOMOUS’ keyword. One of the benefits of using the Db2 instrumentation interface, is the ability to follow the flow of Stored Procedure SQL from the calling application program to the Db2 Stored Procedures and then back to the calling application (this works as all of the SQL runs under the same thread and the same address space as the calling application. However, the SQL, within Stored procedures created with the ‘AUTONOMOUS’ keyword get their own thread and are executed under the DBM1 address space. We use the ASID ‘-START TRACE’ filter parameter or, if unfiltered, uses the QWHSACE (from the standard header) to get the address space id to determine if the trace record is one that we’re interested in.
I tried adding the DBM1 address space id along with the address space id of the measured address space to the -START TRACE, but that caused the -START TRACE command to fail as it’s set up to allow only one address space id. When I look at the trace records without an ASID() filter, I notice that value in QWHCAACE (in the correlation header) matches the measured address spaces ACE - QWHSACE (in the standard header).
IFCID |
Standard Header QWHSACE |
Corr Header QWHCAACE |
233 ‐ Begin Call Autonomous Native SP |
259BC420 ‐ ACE points to the address being measured |
259BC420 |
061 ‐ Begin Update SQL |
259BC720 ‐ ACE points to DBM1 address Space |

259BC720 |
259BC420 |
233 ‐ End Call Autonomous Native SP |

Is there some way to include these trace records when specifying the ASID() parameter for the calling application?
