Autobind retries

We would like in the form of a zparm parameter or as a parameter within a package the ability to have failed autobinds of packages be retried a number of times based on this parameter.

We have a routine process that does several alter rotates which causes a number of packages to become invalid. In many cases the same package will become invalid multiple times (with successful autobinds in between). In some cases the autobind fails due to contention in the system catalog. If the autobind could be retried then it's very likely that it would succeed. Of course this would likely need to be limited to x number of tries. We would like to control that.

    Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request. We have reviewed this request and believe it may a good candidate for the Db2 for z/OS product. However, it is not in our current roadmap and we are unable to deliver it within the next 24 months. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be implementing this Idea.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
