Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Db2 for z/OS development has reviewed it.
All messages for commands go to the MVS console and Db2 MSTR log if the command is issued from an MVS console. All messages for commands go to the Job log if the command is issued from a job. This is a significant change in design.
We suggest that you restrict the authorization to issue START DATABASE, as it is only allowed to certain Db2 authorities. Also they could track START DATABASE with an IFC audit trace, I think that IFCID 361 would work.
