I would like to know if you could change the error message comes from DB2 for z/OS via IBM Client Driver when a wrong user name or password is given. In this current situation we get two types of error messages one states that USER DISABLED/RESTRICTED other states that USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID. Our internal audit department wants to know wheter if it is possible to change the message text to a generic one due to government regulations.
DB2 / RACF - Option for Less informative RACF / logon messages
A recent Pen Test via DDF returned the normal responses - Invalid User, Invalid Password, User not authorised, etc.
We are being asked if this can be replaced by a more generic message so as to not give any clues to a fraudulent logon attempt.
