Enhance DPfD support so that statement cache, thread storage, DDF Comms buffers and any other areas that may contain SPI data are marked as eligible for redaction

We tried DPfD (Db2 APAR PH15940) but found that an SVC dump of Db2 still contained SQL statements in the dynamic statement cache after redaction (using BLSJDPFD). We appreciate that bufferpools are redacted, but we are concerned that SPI may be captured in other areas of a dump that are not being marked as sensitive and therefore will not be automatically redacted. It is not feasible to manually detect and redact SPI in a Db2 dump, owing to its size and complexity.

    Hello Glenn,

The SYS1.SAMPLIB(BLSJDPFD) will only redact the memory that was explicitly tagged by z/OS APIs and will not handle sensitive data that can be found on untagged memory. In order to detect and redact sensitive data on untagged memory, either the Analyze function from IPCS panel 5.6 or the SYS1.SAMPLIB(BLSJDPA) JCL must be used which leverages z/OS Diagnostics Analyzer to accomplish it.

Can you check the function to redact sensitive data on untagged memory and let us know if it helps to redact personal and other sensitive data?

    Thank you,

    The Db2 for z/OS Tea
