Index support for "expression op expression"

In our environment, we have many queries with predicate: "expression op expression".

As they don't use indexes they're performing a table scan.

We would like DB2 to be able to use indexes to resolve this type of predicate.

Examples:

SELECT [id], [start_timestamp]

FROM table

WHERE [id] + 1000 >= 5000;

SELECT [id], [start_timestamp]

FROM table

WHERE [id] / 1000 >= 100;

SELECT [id], [start_timestamp]

FROM table

WHERE [start_timestamp] + CURRENT TIME ZONE = CURRENT TIMESTAMP;

Needed By Yesterday (Let's go already!)

    Dear Maira, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS team in this component area re-reviewed the idea and concluded that it would bring a low reward in comparison to the high amount of Db2 development costs to implement.

    Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be considering this enhancement request at this time.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team
