Support partition level for PENDING DEFINITION CHANGES after altering to PAGENUM RELATIVE

When altering a table/table space and the state is PENDING DEFINITION CHANGES, in the most of the times we have to reorg the entire object.

It take a lot of time and a lot of disk space for the shadow.

Of course we do it with SORTDATA NO RECLUSTER NO, but still for huge tablespaces it take hours.

We have spaces, it took more than 24 hours.

We are asking for a partition level reorg.

    Dear Avichail, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. The Db2 for z/OS development team reviewed it and provided the following feedback:

    Ideally Db2 would no longer require tablespace-level REORGs in any circumstance. Unfortunately, some of these alterable attributes need to be tracked at the tablespace level and therefore require a tablespace-level REORG in order to materialise them. We do continue to deliver further improvements to the REORG utility to reduce processing cost and improve performance, but there are no plans to support partition-level materialisation of PAGENUM RELATIVE.

    Therefore, we will not be implementing this request.

    Please do continue to submit enhancement requests to us as we review each and every one to determine its value to improve the Db2 for z/OS product for our customers.
