Add another counter to indicate that access was allowed due to install SYSADM authority rather than modifying the existing PKG-AUTH UNSUCC-CACHE counter behavior

If Installation SYSADM is used for EXECUTE authority on a package, the entry is not cached in the CACHEPAC area. However, the PKG-AUTH UNSUCC-CACHE count will be incremented even though the Installation SYSADM ID is not being cached in the CACHEPAC area and there is no performance impact. This makes it very difficult to debug PKG-AUTH UNSUCC-CACHE misses as it muddies the water.

I would like to see PKG-AUTH UNSUCC-CACHE updated only where there is a true miss that results in a performance issue. Maybe another counter could be added indicating that access was allowed due to install SYSADM authority to separate this case from PKG-AUTH UNSUCC-CACHE.

Dear David, Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request.

After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming product deliverable because it is not consistent with the product direction.

Consequently, we will not be implementing this request.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team
