Allow more options on -MODIFY TRACE command

We sometimes get clobbered with processes that generate lots of Db2 accounting records to the point where SMF is overwhelmed in collecting/offloading them. We are able to identify the offending authid with our online monitor, but until we can contact the offender, the problem continues.

Rather than turn off the entire accounting trace or turn off SMF's acceping the SMF 101 records (affects all SSIDs on the LPAR), we would like the ability to issue a -MODIFY TRACE command with an XAUTHID option to suppress accounting records from just one authid. That would leave us the ability to record other authids' accounting uninterrupted. We would then need the ability to remove the XAUTHID filter without stopping the trace.

Ideally, any option that is available for -START TRACE would be available to -MODIFY TRACE, but XAUTHID is the one we're most interested in for now.

    Dear John,

Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request. We have reviewed this request and believe it is a good candidate for the Db2 for z/OS product. However, it does not align within functionality prioritized for delivery within the next 12 months. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be considering this idea at this time.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team
