Hello Claudio, Our SME indicated you exchanged some emails with her where she explained what the overhead is if we provided the support that you requested. Please let us know if you require any additional information regarding this enhancement request. And please do continue to submit enhancement requests to us as we review each and every one as a potential candidate for improving the Db2 for z/OS product.
Sincerely,
The Db2 for z/OS Team
Thank you Claudio. Our SME is reviewing your update and I will let you know when they have a response.
Hello Janet
I don't understand your comment related to overhead for users who prefer different a/p across different versions.
In this case user will not use wild card for version and it works with version indicated or no version, as today
Dear Claudio, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our development team reviewed it and provided the following feedback:
VERSION has always been part of SQL identity for OPTHINT. If we support the wild card match, while it removes the overhead of changing OPTHINT column every time for this user, it adds similar overhead to other users who prefer different a/p across different versions.
Therefore, we are not considering this idea at this time. If more customers prefer this new behavior, we can reconsider.
Sincerely,
The Db2 for z/OS team
