Display Trace owner when OPx buffer used

The -DISPLAY TRACE(*) command does not indicate which address space owns the trace when the destination is OPx. Since the OPx destination must be managed by some product/address space it would be helpful to know this.

A typical scenario: The sysprog or dba notices that Db2 is running slow. He displays the traces and sees several running. In an attempt to relieve the problem he stops these traces, not realizing that these traces belong to his performance monitor, which he is currently using to diagnose the slowdown. His monitor stops working when he needs it most.

Dear Thomas, The Db2 for z/OS team continued to review this idea and determined it is a good idea but it does not align with functionality that has been prioritized for delivery within the next 12 months.

Consequently, we will not be considering this idea at this time.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team

Hello Thomas, The Db2 for z/OS team has been busy reviewing your Aha! idea, and they have a question for you: i

Is the ASID is good enough as the "address space owner" for you?

Please let us know - thank you!

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS team
