JSON Indexing on non-inline LOBs

Currently IBM allows the creation of indexes for JSON docs stored in an inline LOB but not a non-inline LOB.

We want to make full use of JSON docs in DB2 for zOS. We wanted to avoid having to move more apps to MongoDB.

    Dear Michael,

Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request.

After giving the request a comprehensive review, we have determined that we cannot include it as a candidate in an upcoming product deliverable because it has a high implementation cost, and it does not align with other functionality planned for implementation in the upcoming 12 months.

Consequently, we will not be considering this request.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team

JSON Indexing on non-inline LOBs

Current DB2 provides the functionality to create indexes on values inside JSON documents stored in inline BLOBs. We need the same ability on non inline LOBs in order to manage performance.
