temporary catalog table

Creating a temporary catalog table could be useful in various situations to restore certain numbers of rows to their original state.

Using the example of SYSSEQUENCES, it could be possible to perform a row-based recovery in the event of an error without negatively affecting uninvolved applications through an entire RECOVER. Depending on the company and the way it works, other temporary catalog tables could be interesting candidates for such an improvement.

You are welcome to suggest further candidates in the comments section

Dear Marius, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request and providing the additional information.

Our catalog SME has reviewed it and determined there is good value in this idea. Unfortunately, this does not align with other work that is scheduled for the upcoming 12 months of development work. Therefore, we are going to close it as Not under consideration at this time.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team
