Dear Soledad, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS development team has provided the following feedback for you:
From our product documentation, there are 4 statuses for stop:
STOP STOPP STOPE LSTOP
A status of STOP indicates that the stop has completed and the object is in a stopped state.
A status of STOPP indicates that the object is in the process of being stopped. An object might remain in the STOP pending (STOPP) status if the STOP DATABASE command does not successfully. Issue the START DATABASE command to remove the STOPP status.
STOPE: If DSNB1SWS issues the ABEND, then it is preceded by a DSNT500I message indicating which page is in error and a DSNI004I message indicating the page set is put in STOPE mode. Operator response Notify the system programmer, print the SYS1.LOGREC, and request the SVC dump.
LSTOP The logical partition is stopped.
The statuses for STOP are good for STOP DATABASE command now, therefore, development will not be considering this enhancement request.
We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
Sincerely,
The Db2 for z/OS Team
