REPORT RECOVERY - new syntax requested to externalise just the image copy and log datasets

REPORT RECOVERY provides the CURRENT and SUMMARY keywords but even for these options the job output is either very verbose (Unit of Recovery, SYSCOPY entries, Archive log datasets, volume numbers for the LOG datasets etc) or too little (just the volume numbers for the log datasets). It will be very useful to the userbase to have a keyword/syntax that outputs just the image copy datasets and archive logs that will be needed for the recovery for an individual tablespace OR those qualified by a listdef. This output could be both for the set of tablespaces in the listdef OR on a tablespace by tablespace basis.

Dear Dhirendra, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. The Utilities development team has other planned roadmap items in the future to help user checks for the recoverability of a single or list of objects, but it is probably not going to be via the REPORT RECOVERY utility. Also tooling is more suitable for customizing and parsing to limit the desired utility output information.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 Utilities team

To us the key point here is that only the needed archive logs are to be reported, not every archive log since last recovery point. So the utility should combine the list of archive logs with the UOR information from syslgrnx and filter the list of archive logs before printing instead of leaving this to the user.

And then also leave out all the other stuff to ease the use of the output.
