CANCEL THREAD Enhancement - to cancel threads by specifying a SCOPE(ssid)

This will help in cancelling of threads running in any of the LPARs in a Parallel Sysplex. Currently, DISPLAY THREAD supports SCOPE(GROUP). So, this would be a good feature to have. These can be very useful during IPLs when some thread is holding up the shutdown. TSO maybe already on its way down. So, if I can login to another LPAR and display the thread from another member and cancel it(manually or using a REXX script), that will help.

    Dear Dil, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS development team reviewed it and suggests you consider utilizing the Command Prefix Facility (CPF) to accomplish your use case. With the Db2 command prefixes registered at a sysplex level, CANCEL THREAD command can be routed to a 'target' member in the sysplex. If the you are familiar with CPF, but do not think it applies to your use case, please provide further clarification so that we can re-evaluate our decision.
