IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data & AI organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas

Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Improvement in Db2 LOAD UTILITY processes associate with data replication via Qrep

-Need: Meet the growing demand for data replication from Banco do Brasil

-Scenario: Banco do Brasil is a large user of data replication using Qrep (IIDR) + DB2 v13 for zOS,
there are thousands of tables replicated from production environments for decision-making environment.
To handle high volumes of data received to input on the main environment, we use the LOAD utility
with RESUME YES SHRLEVEL CHANGE LOG YES options, is the only way to pass the data inserted to QREP via DB2 LOG,
causing high volume of records recorded in LOG, high volume of INSERTS in parallel with ONLINE generating contentions in
GROUP BUFFER POOL DB2. The alternative to minimize de contention is to use LOAD SHRLEVEL NONE, but it requires a full refresh
(unload and load of the entire table, many with billions of rows), because the LOG records generated (shrlevel NONE) are not usefull
for QREP, this process is time-consuming and more complex, because of operational issues and time window.
The problem is the same with the use of tools such as IDAA's InSYNC and Datagate,
which are not sensitized by loads with LOAD SHRLEVEL NONE.

-Requested improvement: Create a LOAD RESUME YES LOG YES SHRLEVEL *xxx*, where *xxx* is a new option that meets the specific need
of data replication without the impacts described above. In other words, something similar to SHRLEVEL NONE
however, enabling the replication of the data entered to read by the QREP or another replication tool.

I think that Idea is very good and is necessary to coirdinate efforts  with Qrep team to improve both products.
