Dear Sergi, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our development team reviewed it and found it an interesting idea. However they will not be considering it at this time, for the following reasons:
This could be something we consider further when Db2 truly does not support non-UTS objects, but that will not be within the next couple of years, and even then, most likely the existing DSNUCH01 index definition would probably remain the same to avoid any incompatible usage/performance regressions, with the ability to create new index on SYSCOPY as a work around. Also, for PBG, using the partition number in a query might not always make sense due to lack of partition independence like a PBR partition does.
We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
Sincerely,
Db2 for z/OS Team
