Temporal support for RLF tables

If you are trying to understand why a thread was aborted by RLF or not, it would be helpful to know what the contents of the RLF tables were at a certain point in time.

    Dear Dietrich Wiese,
Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS Idea.
After giving the request a comprehensive review, our team confirmed that RLF code reading the RLF tables do not care if the transaction start, end timestamps and transaction ID timestamp are added into the RLF table. This reading is to build the in-memory RLF table to efficiently govern a dynamic or static DML statement. How Db2 Data Mgr/System Trigger Mgr components populate rows into the RLF history table once it exists is separated from rest of RLF governing function. Our team also confirmed that you can add version to the RLF tables to make them temporal tables. Consequently, we will not be implementing this Idea.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,
    Db2 for z/OS Team
