Add Bufferpool ID # to SMF 100/2 DNSDQDBP

Hello z/OS DB2,

I am processing the SMF 100 subtype 1 and subtype 2 records and match up
the buffer pool data. In the SMF 100/1 DSNDQBST section, the buffer
pools are identified by a buffer pool ID number. On the SMF 100/2
records, DNSDQDBP section, the buffer pools are identified by buffer
pool name.

Please consider adding buffer pool ID
to the SMF 100/2 record DSNDQDBP section so this data can be matched up
easily in post processing?

DB2 release is 12.1.

Regards,

Mike McInerney

    Hello again -

As I represent the IBM Db2 z/OS customer who initially requested this improvement (indirectly thru the original requester, Mike McInerney), we are reasonably pleased with the Nov 24 2020 update, somewhat indicating that the enhanced BP-identification information (i.e., mapping/association between a BP#(ID) and the assigned DB2 bufferpool name/label) might get added to an SMF 100 data source, either a new or existing subtype.

Please do consider this request seriously and thank you for your continuing Db2 z/OS support and improvement !!

    Regards,

    Scott Barry

Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request.

We have reviewed this request; however, because it is not in our current roadmap and we are unable to deliver it within the next 24 months, it is not under consideration at this time.

We may re-open this idea in the future.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. We also hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team
