new DB2 DDL for DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY VARIABLE

DB2 Version 11 introduced the
CREATE VARIABLE
which allows a DBA (or someone) to define a "variable" which can be used by anyone (for example, in dynamic SQL in batch)

This is a useful DB2 object.

But, I would like to see the capability to
DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY VARIABLE
to allow anyone dynamically define a temporary variable that they can use immediately .. and it later disappears.

I see this new type of variable object as a logical extension of the concept.

Especially, because we already have similar parallel objects for "temporary table".
Specifically,
CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE
and
DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE

    Dear Brian, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our SME and development team spent considerable time re-reviewing it and determined that, because it is not an item we can begin developing/delivering in the upcoming 12 months, we must place it in Not under consideration state at this time. This does not mean it is declined. We have tagged it to review again when planning starts for our next 12 month set of deliverables.

    is this really under "future consideration"? great. but how about a status update!
