complete alter trigger statement

If you need to change the logic of a trigger, you have to DROP and (re)CREATE it. So there is a moment (after the drop) where DML-statements could be executed which are not caught by the trigger.
So I'm asking for the ability to execute an ALTER TRIGGER statement, including the replacement of the body of the trigger. If the statement fails, the current version of the trigger should remain in effect. There should be a guarantee that every DML-statement is handled by either the old or the new version of the trigger.
ALTERNATE SOLUTION: I tried putting the drop-create statements in a transaction, but this does not solve the issue. Concurrent DML-transactions do not complete until the DDL-transaction is committed, but DML-statements that were executed between the drop and create are still not "seen" by the trigger. If this behaviour could be altered, then a "system" consisting of multiple triggers working together could be changed into another "system", perhaps with a different number of triggers. This would offer greater flexibility.

Hello Luc, This requirement was originally submitted as RFE 89720. In that RFE we explained that there is an advanced trigger in Db2 12 for z/OS which allows creation of multiple versions. In addition, the ALTER TRIGGER allows user to ACTIVATE any existing version. However, Db2 can not swtich version automatically when the active version fails. Please take a look at this advanced trigger to see if it satisfies this requirement.
