Deployment Of Native SQL Stored Procedures With Validate(Bind) Is Call Order Dependent

For DB2 V10 and V11.

When NSPs are created with Validate(Bind), they have to be deployed in reverse call order or the the bind deploys will fail with a procedure not found error. If NSPs are created with Vaildate(Run) to get around this limitation, other desireable bind time validations (like table and alias existence checks) are being bypassed.

DB2 needs to be changed so that NSPs (this may apply to other SPs as well) can use a VALIDATE(BINDExceptSP) option. This option will do all the VALIDATE(BIND) validations except the SP validation check.

    Dear Stephen,

    Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Db2 for z/OS development re-reviewed it. In an effort to have maximum transparency, we are not considering the enhancement requests that aren’t currently appearing on our 12 month product roadmap. Therefore, we are closing this idea as "Not under consideration".

    We do hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
