Seperation of DB2 latch 24 coutner in EDM pool and prefetch counter
EDM pool latch suspend cannot be recognized in the DB2 statistics latch 24 counter, because suspends for prefetch are also counted in this field. In the DB2 statistics IFCID 001 there are QVLS latch counters, which are reporting the number of suspends when trying to obtain a latch. The QVLSLC24 latch counter for latch 24 is a mixed counter for EDM Pool and for prefetch. Prefetch use has increased with the last DB2 versions. The latch 24 counter is high in times prefetch workload is running. This means, that we do not recognize EDM pool latch suspends in the mixed statistics counter QVLSLC24. For proactive monitoring we need a distinct latch suspend counter for prefetch and for EDM pool.
